Where does the strength come from to do all that we need to do every day? Food, of course. Exercise is also necessary. Getting enough rest also helps. All of this is necessary to make us stronger and ready for what comes next.
When it comes to spiritual things, where does your strength come from? Again, there are many possible answers: prayer, fellowship, worship, reading and studying the Bible. All are necessary and good. But behind them all, there is something else we often overlook. Not something, but someone: the Holy Spirit.
Jesus told his disciples: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8). Jesus says the same thing to us: without the Holy Spirit there would be no church, no apostles, and we would have no power to live and do godly works.
Are you taking advantage of Jesus’ presence? Are you learning to listen to His voice? It is impossible to follow Jesus without the Holy Spirit. If you follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit is already in you. Ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit and show you how to live a Spirit-filled life. The adventure is out there!
