Eight years after the popular farm sim Stardew Valley took root in our hearts and reignited the genre, the official cookbook is here. The Official Stardew Valley Cookbook includes over 50 of his recipes for the game, written by independent game developer ConcernedApe and author Ryan Novak, and illustrated by Kari Fry. Novak and Frye both worked on the Stardew Valley Guidebook.
This cookbook is currently available in hardcover and digital e-book versions. Published by Penguin Random House and available at Amazon, Target, Barnes and Noble, and other retailers.
Culinary crusaders can explore seasonal recipes throughout the four seasons that feature prominently in the game. Summer has crab cake and pink cake recipes, fall has survival burgers and pumpkin soup.
An example entry on the website is Lucky Lunch, another recipe taken directly from the game. Featuring poached shrimp and toasted tortillas, this recipe is reminiscent of the pixelated in-game image of star-shaped tortillas on a bed of greens.
Recipes also include writings, quotes, and photos from Pelican Town’s in-game residents.
Stardew Valley has been around for years, but its passionate developers are still committed to free updates and patches. His 1.6 update released earlier this year. After that, developer ConcernedApe announced their next game, Haunted Chocolatier.
Stardew Valley is available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and mobile devices. The rating is E10+.
