Trinity UMC Summer Camp
Music Makers Glow in the Dark Summer Camp at Trinity United Methodist Church We’re almost there! Music Producer is a local children’s choir that prepares and performs Christian musicals for children. This summer music and drama camp is for children in grades 2-5.
The performance will include music as well as black lights and other special lighting.
On the last day of camp, everyone will enjoy a dessert bar after the performance!
The camp will run from July 22-26, Monday-Friday, 5-7:30pm.
Cost is $25 per week, with discounts available for multiple children in the same family, and scholarships are available.

Before you all come together, ponder the following questions: Has generosity shown up unexpectedly in your life? Think about a challenge you are currently facing in your life. How could gratitude help you get through it?

First Christian Church Activities
Pastor Carlos Perez of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of DeLand Upon his return from Kansas City, Missouri, he became president of the Obra Hispana Congregation, which refers to the life and work of Hispanic and bilingual congregations of the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada.
The denomination has about 200 Hispanic and bilingual congregations and missions, with others in the process of organizing.

SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS — The Richard Pierce Memorial Scholarship Committee of Trinity United Methodist Church in DeLand has announced this year’s scholarship winners. At left are Emma Van Dusen and at right is Kayla Sharp. Introducing the two in the center is Cindy Russo. Emma, the granddaughter of Sally and Skip Van Dusen, is a graduate of DeLand High School and will pursue a degree in psychology at St. Johns River State College. Kayla, the daughter of Tony and Yesenia Sharp, will be attending Daytona State College in a nursing program.

Immediately after Jesus calmed the storm on the lake, Mark continues to recount Jesus’ journey, eventually reaching His hometown where He preached in the synagogue, amazed the unbelieving townspeople.
Pastor Casey just returned from the First Presidency of DeLand’s annual mission trip to Nicaragua and will share his experience with us.
When God calls, she must go, and so must we. How easy it would be to stay in the comfort of our own language and culture, our own homes (and they are often air-conditioned homes), and close to easily accessible markets.
How easy it is to share God’s Word with people who know you and who likely agree with you.
We can’t stay still, but we must go where God calls us…even to places that are difficult, uncomfortable, and unknown.
The First Counselor has a reduced schedule over the summer, but in addition to weekly Sunday School and group meetings, there are several important events taking place in July.
First up is a six-part Wednesday night series. “Focus on spiritual practices” Finally, we would like to share an invitation to our meetings, “Focus on Movement” on July 10 and “Focus on Prayer” on July 17. The group will meet in the Fellowship Hall from 5:30-6:30pm to grow in their spiritual lives through a friendly, relaxed fellowship experience.
First Press Registration Vacation Bible SchoolThe event will continue with this year’s theme, “Scuba, Dive into Friendship with God,” and families can register their children, kindergarten through fifth grade, for free online or at the church office.
The week of godly music, art, games, spirit and friendly activities will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon each day from July 22-26. Trained teachers and helpers will be on hand to welcome these young people.
