We recently released the World’s 100 Best Spas, which means a lot of fancy things, like drinking lots of fancy fruit-infused water, have become part of our weekly routines.
Jokingly (and colloquially) referred to as “spa water” and20 has recently been reimagined as “sexy water” on social media apps like TikTok. So what’s so sexy about it? Of course, it’s because of the ingredients it contains to make it more moisturizing and more romantic.
This wellness trend sees anything become sexy when soaked in a glass of water, be it a few sliced strawberries, a pinch of salt, or the classic cucumber. Content creator Kelly Grace May has been making her own sexy water since the beginning of the year. Her concoction includes a combination of osmotic water (“I don’t really know what that means!” she says), ice, fresh mint, electrolytes, and tinctures from wellness brand Sakara, their detox water drops with chlorophyll and beauty water drops with trace minerals.
Sexy Water can have health benefits beyond hydration, depending on what you mix it into. Adding a slice of lemon to hot or cold water is an easy way to get started with Sexy Water (with the added benefits of reducing anxiety and boosting your immune system). If you’re fondly reminiscing about a trip to the spa, try adding cucumber and mint. Not only is it stylish, it can also aid digestion, reduce nausea, and add antioxidants.
Doctors and dentists caution us to alternate between drinking sexy water and regular, boring, unsexy water, or our tooth enamel may be affected, but anything that helps us stay hydrated in the summer is a sexy win for us.
