Bhubaneswar: SOA University has collaborated with Central Ayurvedic Research Institute (CARI), an institute working under Central Council of Ayurvedic Scientific Research (CCRAS), Bhubaneswar, to evaluate its anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties. An agreement was signed to conduct research. of two plants.
CCRAS is an autonomous institution functioning under the Ministry of Ayush. It is the national nodal apex body that formulates and coordinates research in Ayurvedic science.
As per the agreement, both institutes will jointly conduct research over the next two years on the project titled “Aqueous and ethanolic extraction of two promising apothecary (Anucta dravia) plants and evaluation of their anti-inflammatory and wound healing activities” We plan to implement this. . Full funding for the proposed project will be extended by his CCRAS, and part of the project implementation will take place at the Biotechnology Center of his SOA.
The MoU was signed by Vice-Chancellor and SOA Registrar Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan and Sarada Ota, Director, CCRAS-CARI, who has been appointed by CCRAS as acting coordinator of the project. Prof. Center for Biotechnology at SOA Pratap Chandra Panda and his Head of Research (Ayurveda) at CCRAS-CARI Purnendu Panda will be the principal investigators of the project.
As per the MoU, CCRAS-CARI and SOA will organize joint fieldwork to collect botanical samples and ethnomedical data from various habitats in Odisha and other places. Laboratory work and animal experiments are carried out by the Biotechnology Center.
