SHA Wellness Clinic has shared details about its upcoming luxury island enclave in Al Jurf, United Arab Emirates.
The IMKAN-developed location is scheduled to open in 2026 and will be SHA’s third global outpost
SHA has a flagship store in Alicante, Spain, and recently opened a second facility in Mexico in January 2024.
SHA Emirates Island in Aljaf will feature a SHA wellness clinic, health resort, seaside residences and multiple health and wellbeing pavilions.
Spanish wellness brand SHA Wellness Clinic is busy preparing to strengthen its wellness portfolio with an ultra-luxury island wellness enclave in Al Jurf, UAE, in 2026.
Created by Abu Dhabi-based development partner IMKAN, SHA Emirates Island in Al Jurf will integrate the SHA Wellness Clinic, a health resort, 137 beachfront residences and several pavilions dedicated to health and wellbeing.
The 12.5 hectare property is surrounded by hundreds of thousands of planted trees that form a lush forest in the middle of the desert, allowing guests to immerse themselves in nature at any time.
The upcoming opening will herald the second phase of SHA’s ambitious global expansion strategy, following the successful launch of SHA Mexico in January 2024. This was the brand’s first venture beyond Spain’s borders.
“The destination is being built with an investment of AED 600 million (US$163.4 million, €146.8 million, £124.5 million) and will include 110 treatment rooms, 120 suites and 150 residential units. “It will include a large real estate component with a large estate,” said SHA Vice President Alejandro. Butterer in the spa business.
“Our dream is to create the world’s sixth Blue Zone, a place recognized as having the highest concentration of people over 100 years of age. We envision an enclosed, tranquil wellness island, which will be a first for the region and will attract travelers from all over the world.”
SHA says the destination will offer a completely new housing model for the area, centered around wellness, ensuring that all residents enjoy the highest standards of well-being and tranquility.
Batalar added: “To create the world’s first fully integrated wellness island, we traveled to dozens of locations in search of perfect natural environments, warm climates, and ease of access. We found everything we could imagine and more in the destination Aljourf.
The low-density UAE development will feature a range of facility amenities, including:
Customized wellness and fitness programs:
• On-site spa offering relaxation, rejuvenation and premium medical treatments.
• A holistic pavilion focused on mental and spiritual health through yoga and meditation.
• Wellness Kids Club.
• Sports pavilion for fitness enthusiasts and athletes.
• Community spaces and events.
• Marine pavilion offering a schedule of water sports and marine activities.
• Exclusive club access.
• Family Pavilion for family-centered activities and leisure

A team of international and local architects and designers was assembled to realize this vision: NMDC, SAOTA, HBA, SIEC, and OTAK.
SHA Emirates Island was established with the aim of achieving Delos’ WELL Building Certification System, the world authority on green building standards and practices.
Prioritizing natural materials, organic design and landscaping that takes advantage of existing vegetation supports the island’s unique concept of healthy living.
Inside the home, various passive design strategies, such as thoughtful orientation and integration of wind and shading elements, play a vital role in minimizing energy consumption.
In addition, our commitment to sustainability is highlighted by the introduction of energy-efficient appliances, intelligent monitoring and control systems, and solar-powered heating and power sources.
