Los Alamos Retirement and Senior Citizens Organization (LARSO) will host a Senior Health Fair on Tuesday, May 14th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Activities Center. The program is designed for community members age 55 and older, as well as family members and caregivers who support older adults in Los Alamos County.
A variety of community and health organizations will be involved, ranging from assisted living, home care, health and wellness specialties, to general nursing services and health therapies, and even environmental education. A series of mini-lectures and raffles will also be held during the fair.
10:30-11 – Jack Allison (Los Alamos Visiting Nursing Service), 3 Hours to Aging in Place
11-11:30 – Desiree Jimenez (Cooperative Extension Service), Osteoporosis and You
11:30-12 – Michele Stitza (Cooperative Extension Service), Tips on Type 2 Diabetes
12-12:30 – Activity: Fill out the Senior Fair Passport
12:30-1 – Activity: Prize draw
Participating organizations will provide information, resources and activities, as well as food and prizes, to help Los Alamos County’s senior communities ride the wave of wellness. Join us for this exciting event and plan a healthy and prosperous year.

The Los Alamos Senior Activity Center provides classes, workshops, transportation, meals, and more for seniors in Los Alamos.
