
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides low-income seniors with access to locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs.
Eligible participants will receive a $50 coupon to be used at participating farm stands and roadside stands, which can be redeemed for fresh Ohio-grown vegetables, fruits, herbs and honey.
To qualify for this program in Lake County, you must be a Lake County resident, be 60 years of age or older, and have an income of ( all Household income is less than $27,861 for one person and $37,814 for two people (185% of the federal poverty level).
The SFMNP 2024 season will use an electronic solution called “Homegrown Benefits” to Ohio Department of Aging.

At the time of application, the eligible senior or his/her representative may elect One of two Your options for receiving SFMNP benefits this year:
- The mobile advantage: eFMNP’s Homegrown Benefits is an app that eligible participants will use to access their benefits. This option requires a smartphone and email. After you apply, you will receive an email from ODA within 1-2 weeks with the Homegrown Benefits app and instructions for enrolling.
- Physical disability certificate: This physical benefit card lists your SFMNP benefits and will be required to access your benefits when shopping at your local farmers market. Smartphone and email are not required for this option. Please note that receiving your SFMNP benefits this way will take a little longer due to mailing.
