A new wellness-focused dog care service has opened in Short Pump.
Founded in 2015, Scenthound is the nation’s first dog wellness concept with plans for more than 250 franchised and corporate-owned locations in 24 states. The Short Pump location, 10921 West Broad Street, Suite B, will host a grand opening event on May 11, with all proceeds from the day going to the Richmond SPCA. Scenthound is planning two more stores in the Richmond area, company officials said.
The new store is operated by Freddie Harris, a former business group member and longtime dog lover, and Scott Lata, a former manager at the Virginia Country Club.
All memberships include a “basic hygiene” package (includes bath, ear cleaning, nail clipping, teeth brushing, and 6-point health check), and dog owners can purchase additional services as needed. can.
