
Regional Office Small Business Week Winner
Vermont Business Magazine Darcy Carter, District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Vermont Office, announced the selection of Integrative Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine practitioner Kelly Boyle as the 2024 Vermont Small Business Person of the Year.

Dr. Kelly Boyle is a licensed acupuncturist and acupuncturist in Montpelier.
Kelly became interested in natural health care while working at a health food store in the 90s. She then received her education at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, where she graduated in 2003 with a master’s degree in acupuncture. She spent her four years traveling abroad and performing acupuncture treatments on cruise ships.
In 2008, Kelly returned to Vermont and founded Integrative Acupuncture. Her passion and leadership for patients has led IA to grow to her three locations, serving approximately 300 people each week. Her team of 12 consists of acupuncturists, massage therapists, naturopathic doctors, and valuable support staff.
“My work as a health care provider is fueled by a passion for helping people heal with acupuncture. But I also want to help create jobs and increase access to this wonderful medicine while helping a greater number of practitioners.” I found that I could expand my reach by building a network.

Dr. Kelly Boyle and other Vermont Small Business Award winners will receive their awards at the 2024 Vermont Small Business Awards Ceremony, co-hosted with Vermont Biz, on June 12 in Burlington. The ceremony is open to the public and registration is expected to begin in May.
According to Integrative Acupuncture’s website, Kelly Boyle is a Vermont acupuncturist who is nationally board certified in acupuncture, holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture (MSA) and a Certified Acupuncturist (L.Ac) in Vermont and Washington. has acquired the title of . She trained at Bastyr University, a leading provider of natural medicine in Seattle, Washington, took the national certification exam, and earned the designation of Diplomate in Acupuncture (Dipl. Kelly chose Bastyr University and University of the Pacific because of their rigorous training in both Chinese and Western medicine and their commitment to evidence-based medicine. This approach allows for the integration of acupuncture within a Western clinical setting and facilitates collaboration with healthcare provider teams. During her training, Kelly completed rotations in various community health settings and was able to receive in-depth training in using acupuncture as a complementary therapy for complex conditions such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and chronic fatigue. Kelly completed additional graduate internships with senior acupuncturist Jani White Los Angeles in London, England, and with renowned fertility specialist and midwife Sarah Budd at Plymouth Hospital in Devon, England. She also completed a rotation at Lincoln Recovery Center in the Bronx, New York, working on acupuncture for detoxification and addiction management.
For three years, Mr. Kelly practiced acupuncture on cruise ships around the world, treating pain and introducing acupuncture to tens of thousands of guests. He then worked with Steiner Leisure LLC, an industry leader, to implement acupuncture and herbal programs on more than 40 ships.
Kelly has worked in a variety of medical settings including rehabilitation clinics, pain management clinics, spas, and hospitals and has seen the effectiveness of integrative medicine firsthand. Kelly earned her license as a Massage Therapist (LMT) prior to her training in acupuncture and continues to integrate massage techniques into her acupuncture treatments as needed.
She also enjoys lecturing on acupuncture and has had the opportunity to speak at various events around the world. Her passion for yoga led her to complete her yoga teacher training at Yoga Vermont in 2018. She also pursues complementary training in essential oils, flower essences, and homeopathic medicine.
Kelly first moved to Vermont at the age of 18 and fell in love with the state’s natural beauty and kind-hearted people. She raised her family in central Vermont and built a vibrant community through her acupuncture practice, after which she has lived here for years and returned often during her school breaks. have chosen to contribute.
