Lord Satyanarayan Swami is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the Supreme Being who is also the incarnation of truth. He is worshiped by people to get blessings for success in his career and other works and in his life in general. who Satyanarayana Swami?

Satyanarayana Swamy is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. The Sanskrit word Satya means truth and Narayana is believed to be the twin brother of Vishnu on earth. Narayana also means the Supreme Being. Satyanarayana together mean the Supreme Being, the embodiment of truth. People worship Lord Satyanarayan and seek His blessings for career growth and business success. This puja is usually performed along with Griha Pravesh, marriage and Naamkaran rituals.

When is Satyanarayana Puja completed?

Satyanarayana Puja can be performed on any day of the full moon, or Pournami. On the other hand, Ekadashi day is considered auspicious to perform Vratam. Usually, Ekadashi day falls on his 11th day after Amavasya or Pournami.

Satyanarayana Puja It can also be done to commemorate successes such as purchasing a home, moving into a new home, purchasing real estate, starting a new business, getting a job, getting married, or having children. This is usually done to neutralize adversity and overcome any difficulties through divine intervention.

Although there is no fixed day to perform Satinarayan Puja, it is considered very auspicious to perform it during Purnima or Purnima.

It is believed that performing Satinarayan Puja at home brings a lot of success to the person. It is believed that those who perform this puja will easily achieve their goals and realize all their desires. Similarly, participating in this puja is also believed to help improve an individual’s physical and mental health.

Some people believe that this puja increases the overall prosperity of the family and that is one of the main reasons why newlyweds perform this puja. This puja is also believed to remove all sins from previous lives, thereby giving the person a clean slate to start life.

How can I perform Satyanarayana Puja at home?

The puja usually begins with offering prayers to Lord Ganesha. This is considered to be of great importance as it is said that worshiping Lord Ganesha removes all obstacles that may arise as a result of performing this puja incorrectly.

The next step of this puja is to chant the Navagraha and his companions and the eight Dikparakas. Then the main puja begins with worship of Lord Satyanarayana by chanting various names of His Swami Shri Satyanarayana.

Another important section is reading the Satyanarayana Katha. This Katha emphasizes the origin of puja and its benefits, the misfortunes that occur when people forget to perform this puja, and the importance of rituals and prasad. Finally, the puja ends with aarti and prasada with a bouquet of flowers.

How to worship Satinarayan Vrat

  • Puja can be performed not only in the morning but also in the evening, but Satyanarayana Puja is considered more suitable to be performed in the evening.
  • On this day, I wake up early in the morning and take a bath with Ganges water.
  • After this, place the statue of Satinarayan and tie banana leaves around it.
  • Panchamritam (a mixture of milk, honey, ghee/butter, curd, and sugar) is used to purify the Shaligram, the sacred stone of a deity, usually Maha Vishnu.
  • Panjiri is prepared for prasad or bhog made with flour and sugar. Sacred tulsi leaves are added to the prasad and fruits are also offered.
  • It is also considered beneficial to recite Satinarayan Katha or stories during the puja. It narrates the anecdote behind the incarnation and how this puja is beneficial for believers.
  • The puja ends with performing Satinarayan Aarti in front of the picture or idol of the deity. It is done by lighting small pieces of kapoor or camphor and surrounding the small camphor-lit fire around the idol or deity.
  • Place the jar filled with water on the pillar and light the desi ghee lamp.
  • Now worship the Katha of Satinarayan.
  • Mix flour with sugar and offer it to God.
  • Make sure to include basil (tulsi patta) in your prasad.
  • Devotees performing puja or fasting receive prasad or panchamurtam and break their fast.

According to legend, Narad Ji once said to Lord Bhagwan Vishnu, “Everyone on earth seems to be very sad, but is there no solution to this?” Hearing this, Lord Bhagwan Vishnu said that by observing the Satinarayan fast, all human sufferings can disappear. He said that anyone who considers the truth as God and worships it will have all his sins cut off and good results.
