- Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in an interview Sunday Times Style She eats her daily meals between 8 and 10 hours apart.
- This is known as “intermittent fasting.”
- Other A-list stars such as Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian also follow the protocol from time to time.
Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley says she practices intermittent fasting, which means eating only meals within an eight to 10 hour window.
“It gives your body a chance to digest everything,” she said of this weekend’s Sunday Times Style Magazine. So is this a lifestyle that is backed by evidence?
It’s on hold. International Journal of Obesity Intermittent fasting has been found to be more effective than a calorie-restricted diet for fat loss in young women and also improves insulin sensitivity, but there are still no conclusive scientific answers to confirm the actual effectiveness of the eating plan.
For Huntington-Whiteley, a typical fast ends with an oat milk matcha latte at 8 a.m. She then tries to finish all of her daily meals by 6 p.m. to allow her body to enter a rest-and-digest cycle, though if she’s going out to dinner or an event, she’ll push her meal time back a bit and end her fast later in the day instead.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Fitness Routine
If time permits in the day, I’ll be at the gym by 9 a.m. I’ve always been active – when I was little, my mother was an aerobics instructor and she always encouraged me and my siblings to take up sports.
Despite the fact that I have to stay healthy for my job, I am one of those people who genuinely loves to exercise. What I do depends on my mood and my schedule.
When I’m jet lagged or just looking for a gentler workout, I attend yoga or Pilates sessions with instructor Andi Hecker at Ballet Bodies in L.A. She’s a former ballerina, so she knows the kind of body I want: long, lean and toned.
If I want something energizing, I go to Tracy Anderson Studio or Simone de la Rue at Body by Simone. I love the classes that combine aerobics and dance. The classes are really intense and challenging.
When I’m in London I train with my brother Toby at the Workshop Gymnasium, or he comes over to the hotel and we do circuit training sessions in between work.
Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s Diet
Every morning when I wake up, I drink a litre of water. I try to drink at least 3 litres a day. Since I started doing this consistently, I’ve seen a big difference in my digestion and my skin. After drinking the water, I’ll make myself a soy latte and whip up some scrambled eggs and spinach before heading to the gym.
I try to eat lots of lean proteins like fish and chicken along with fresh salads and vegetables.
Over the past year, I’ve been cutting back on eating red meat a bit because it made me feel heavy and sluggish.
I’m a big fan of juicing and try to drink several different types of vegetable juices a day. The most used tool in my kitchen is definitely the juicer, and I have cupboards full of organic fruits and veggies.
This all sounds very noble, but my strategy is to eat clean and simple meals at home so I can enjoy them when I’m out.
That doesn’t mean I don’t watch what I eat — I certainly wouldn’t gobble down a giant bowl of pasta the night before a lingerie shoot — but I also don’t want to be the girl who pushes the salad off her plate or nibbles on a celery stalk and looks miserable.
Life is short and food is good: fries, cheese, bread, bacon…
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s favorite beauty products
I take really good care of my skin because it’s not always spotless. If I’ve been wearing heavy makeup all day at work, I’ll use a Clarisonic brush to wash my face, which helps to remove any makeup or dirt that might be left behind.
I’ve been using iS Clinical for the past few years and the results are amazing. Their Active Serum helps prevent fine lines and dark spots. When I’m in LA, I see facialist Shani Darden and I also love her Resurface Retinol cream. I use it every other day and wake up to smooth skin.
When I’m not working, I like to keep my makeup simple and natural. I also don’t like to spend a lot of time getting ready, so I focus on my skin, add a little bronzer, blush, mascara and lip balm. I actually like myself more this way.
I think I look my best when I’m working out or soaking up the sun after a day at the beach.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Health Routine
Whenever I feel stressed, I try to make time to read a good book. I like non-fiction and the last book I read was “The Essential Zohar: The Source of Kabbalistic Wisdom” by Rav PS Berg. I am quite interested in spirituality and try to incorporate different aspects of it, such as meditation, into my daily life.
Practicing simple mindfulness techniques can help me get through stressful situations, but I don’t have the habit of sitting down and meditating every day. Besides that, just being by the ocean is relaxing.
I just passed my PADI Open Water Scuba Diving exam and I am so excited – the feeling of being in a whole other world underwater is indescribable.
