Robin Goodall’s EN(dur)ANCE
Robin Goodall
I spent last week at the Wilderness Prayer Center both as Area Director (cleaning up the flooded basement, cooking, hosting/serving, working with the help of amazing volunteers) and as a respite.
I am not great with “pause” time, and yet, dare I say, I need it.
One day we had a prayer meeting with people from Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and within 100 miles of Wells. I was the facilitator and walked in and out, observing people who were truly “giving their all to Jesus” amid the speakers, music, and silence.
The next day, I prayed for the YFC middle school youth at Prairie River Camp.
So I wrote the names of all the staff and young people on sticky notes for those who came to pray.
All of a sudden, the question comes: “Robin, how is your posture?” Not physically, but in your mind?
My mind went back to my to-do list and I felt guilty. I looked at the 80+ names written on sticky notes. I noticed there was white space above, below and on either side of the names. My heart ached because I knew some of the stories behind the names.
Simply put, it’s an “aha moment.” We are more than our name and how others see us. There is so much more to us, and Jesus knows it all.
What is your attitude? Whose name is on that post-it? Are you praying for them?
