June 30th is Queer Youth of Faith Day, a holiday created by Beloved Arise, which describes itself as “the first national organization dedicated to empowering young people to embrace both their faith and their queer identity.”
According to The Trevor Project research, one in five LGBTQ+ youth say religion or spirituality is important or very important to them, and nearly one in four report praying, meditating, or engaging in personal religious reflection at least weekly or daily. And in an encouraging sign, LGBTQ+ youth who rate religion or spirituality as important or very important report significantly lower rates of depressive symptoms compared to other LGBTQ+ youth.
