author Carissa Stanton reveals She frankly said she never went to culinary school. Rather, she learned how to cook from “anyone who could teach her, including family, friends, and anyone else who might want a second helping of the dish.”
After graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Exercise Physiology and a concentration in Fitness, Health and Nutrition, she struggled to find work in her chosen field. Instead, she worked in real estate and as a waitress to make ends meet and satisfied her creative urges by hosting weekly girls’ night dinner parties. When friends asked for recipes, she posted them on Instagram. Soon, her social media following exploded.
Stanton named his page “Brocc Your Body” after Justin Timberlake’s hit song “Rock Your Body,” alluding to his passion for good food and exercise. Now about cooking, dating, and dealing with life’s challenges her full-time job.
Stanton describes herself as “a very relaxed hostess who has hosted many successful dinner parties,” which speaks volumes about her charm. Rather than forcing a specific diet, she strives to eliminate food anxiety by emphasizing healthy choices while allowing for indulgence.
The Turmeric Ginger Grain Bowl (seasoned roasted veggies and chickpeas piled high with quinoa and avocado, smothered in a lemony tahini sauce) left me feeling energized and full, and I’m also curious about the Pistachio Pesto Salmon and Crispy Mushroom Tacos, both of which leave room for a Flourless Espresso Brownie or Blackberry Mexican Mule.
If you’re looking for a balance between nourishment and decadence, you’ve come to the right place.
