Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bhairwa has announced the setting up of the state’s second Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy university in Ajmer.
The recruitment process for 1,262 Ayurvedic, Unani and Homeopathic nurses and compounders is in the final stages, he said in the Rajasthan Assembly on Wednesday.
Bhairuwa said that along with Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Homeopathy and Unani systems of medicine are being promoted in the state and there are now separate directorates and educational institutions for Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani in the state for protection and promotion of these systems of medicine.
There are also laboratories for manufacturing medicines and an extensive network of hospitals and clinics through which services are provided to the general public, he added.
After discussion, the Assembly passed by oral vote the demand for grant of Rs 1,309,800,530,1900 crore for the Ayurvedic, Homeopathic and Unani medicine sector.
Dr Bhairuwa told the Assembly that Madan Mohan Malviya Government Ayurveda University, Udaipur, will be organising a two-day national level seminar on the theme ‘Manovigyaniyam – Ayurveda for Mental Health’ this year. He also said India’s first AYUSH university has been set up in Jodhpur.
