Quest Diagnostics collaborates with St. James Health, a community health center focused on providing comprehensive primary care and preventive services in the East, West, and South wards of Newark, New Jersey, to develop the Blueprint for Wellness® provided free comprehensive medical examinations. Choose Healthy Life (CHL) event at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark. This effort was part of an ongoing collaboration between Choose Healthy Life and the Quest Diagnostics Foundation as part of their Quest for Health Equity (Q4HE) initiative.
The event coincides with the expansion of the church’s Willing Heart Community Care Center, which focuses on addressing social inequities in health care, employment, housing, food disparity, and poverty in Newark and the surrounding area. Celebrated the center’s transformation into the Willing Heart Family Empowerment Center.

As a founding sponsor, the Quest Diagnostics Foundation provided financial support for the establishment of CHL’s church-based community health workforce. This includes support from CHL HUB partners such as The Willing Heart.
Through the Q4HE initiative, Quest Diagnostics and the Quest Foundation support CHL’s Community Wellness Program by delivering the Blueprint for Wellness®, which provides a series of laboratory tests and measurements completed to highlight an individual’s health status. We are building on our initial commitment to CHL. The strengths and risks of supporting underserved communities to manage their health.
Quest provided complimentary Wellness® Blueprints to a total of 51 attendees as St. James Clinic staff performed specimen collection and biometric measurements at recent celebration commemorating Metropolitan Baptist Church’s expansion into the community Did. Special visit to Sesame Workshop
To continue the excitement for families, the Q4HE team arranged for Elmo to appear as a special guest in collaboration with Sesame Workshop.Supported by nonprofit organizations with global impact Sesame streetSesame Workshop is one of the organizations Q4HE works with across many sectors to drive change and improve health outcomes in underserved communities.
Children also viewed the Stay Healthy children’s book, part of a series developed through Q4HE in collaboration with Sesame Workshop. This series offers bilingual resources in English and Spanish designed to connect and support parents, caregivers, and health care providers as partners in their child’s health care.
