Below is a press release issued by Deep Valley Arts Collective.

Deep Valley Arts Collective is pleased to present a special exhibition titled “Peest Together: Restoration Through Art.” The exhibition opens at his MEDIUM Art Gallery in Ukiah and will run from May 3, 2024 until June 1, 2024.
“Pieced Together: Recovery Through Art” features artwork created by individuals in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse. This carefully curated art collection represents his nine months of weekly private collage workshops with recovery clients and monthly collage workshops for the public. The artwork on display explores individual stories and provides artistic tools to communicate effectively. This shows how art can be an important element in the recovery process and help individuals move towards a healthier life.
This project explores how art can help all people in recovery and those affected by substance abuse by using artistic tools to envision alternative futures and directly explore the effects of substance abuse. We focused on what we can do.
“Pieced Together” was made possible with funding from the Upstate California Creative Corps to expand opportunities for people in the community to create art, form community bonds, and build resilience.
