FULTON – OCO Nutrition Services is participating in the summer meal service program this year. Meals are provided free of charge to all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination during meal service.
“Summer is a fun time for kids to hang out with friends, go to camp for a week, take family trips, and splash around in the pool,” says Lori Halstead, OCO Nutrition Services Coordinator. “But for many children who receive free or reduced-price meals at school, summer means hunger. Just as learning doesn’t end when school ends, children’s nutritional needs don’t end either. This year, we’ve partnered with the USDA to provide free meals to children while school is out for the summer. There are no income requirements, and all children under the age of 18 can enjoy the free meals at designated locations. Meals will be served where children can enjoy activities and recreation.”
