Pregnancy is a unique experience for every woman. Even the same woman may experience it differently with each pregnancy. Morning sickness, insomnia during pregnancy, heartburn, the list goes on. Thankfully, there are things that pregnant women can do to help ease the discomforts of pregnancy. A big part of this is diet. As today’s guest said, “food is mood.” Gaining a better understanding of proper nutrition during pregnancy can help you have a better experience and feel more in tune with your mind and body. Let me welcome today’s guest.

Who is Dr. Paul Quinn?

Dr. Paul Quinn, CNM, has been a nurse practitioner for almost 30 years and a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) for almost 20 years. Dr. Paul Quinn has worked in incredibly diverse environments and has had the privilege of meeting, caring for, and interacting with some of the most dynamic, interesting, and insightful women. With a PhD in Nursing, he is a scientist at heart who is passionate about putting his research into practice in ways that improve people’s lives. He is also the author of five books, and that number continues to grow. He is the first male midwife I have met, so I couldn’t wait to hear his thoughts, hear his story, and soak up all his words of wisdom.

What did we discuss?

In this episode, I speak with Dr Paul Quinn about her experience as a midwife, nutritional tips for a better pregnancy, and staying in tune with your body and mind during pregnancy. Some of the questions we covered include:

  • I know you’re one of the few male midwives in the U.S., which is amazing. Can you tell us more about your journey into midwifery and how you realized this was your passion?

Once you listen to it, you can really hear the passion and love that Dr. Paul has for his work. His power was truly powerful. I was inspired and energized by our conversations, and I think you will be too.
