Last month, five Health Science Master of Science students in the Nutrition Communication program taught 36 undergraduate students from across TMU how to prepare affordable, healthy meals in an informative and experiential partnership. was held. The event, called ‘Learn How to Cook’, is also supported by Student Health and Wellbeing and is part of his TMU Recreation program that provides students with the opportunity to learn new skills.
It was an opportunity for master’s students to plan a workshop as part of their capstone project. They surveyed students across the university to learn what students wanted from their workshops: ideas for healthy eating and quick and easy meals on a budget.
“It was great to be able to interact with other students while providing the participants with the food and nutrition skills and knowledge that we have learned throughout undergraduate and graduate school,” said Nutrition Communication student and co-organizer. said Ruba Al Rubai, a workshop.
