1440 Foods plans to invest more than $60 million in the center.
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — One Southern Indiana announced Thursday that the sports and active nutrition company will call southern Indiana home.
1440 Foods will relocate its major manufacturing operations to Jeffersonville, creating nearly 200 jobs.
It is located at 301 Salem Road in the River Ridge Commerce Center.
“The opening of our Jeffersonville store is an important milestone in our plan to make protein-rich snack options available to as many people as possible,” said Alexandre Medici, Chairman of the 1440 Foods Board of Directors. “We considered several locations, but in the end, Jeffersonville was the perfect location due to its proximity to major transportation and a skilled and responsive workforce. We look forward to becoming part of the Bill community and look forward to growing our great team in the coming months.”
1440 Foods’ mission is to “energize people to unlock their potential with a portfolio of accessible, delicious health and wellness brands.” Products on sale include Pure Protein Nutrition Bars, Body Fortress High Efficiency Protein Powder, and MET-Rx High Performance Meal Replacement. These products can be purchased online at Amazon or in person at various grocery stores and pharmacies.
The company plans to invest more than $60 million in improvements to existing buildings and new machinery and equipment, according to a news release.
Officials said 1440 Foods has already begun hiring leadership and management positions for the facility. Current job openings are posted online here. The company plans to begin hiring for positions such as team leaders, material handlers, packers and line operators later this year.
Pay will range from $18.50 to $33 per hour depending on position, skills and experience, according to the release. All employees will be provided with benefits and will be able to participate in the company’s annual bonus program.
“The City of Jeffersonville is thrilled that 1440 Foods has chosen the River Ridge Commerce Center as the site for its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility,” said Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore. “This significant investment is a great addition to our growing network of food and beverage industry partners, and by hiring 200 local residents at an average wage of $33 per hour, we are confident that our partners will be successful in the long term. ”
The facility is scheduled to begin production in 2025.A groundbreaking event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd at 3:30 p.m.
