Alyssa has been with NORC since 2013 and is based in the Sacramento office, where her work focuses on population health, communications, and behavior change through social marketing research. Alyssa has experience with formative research including segmentation, message development, concept testing, focus groups, key informant interviews, and qualitative methods; she also has experience with program and campaign evaluation, quantitative methods including instrument design and measurement development, cognitive testing, administration of large-scale multi-mode surveillance studies, and development and implementation of training in field survey administration. Her primary areas of expertise are maternal, child, and adolescent health, mental health stigma reduction and prevention, early intervention and access to services, health equity and disparities, and obesity prevention.

Marie serves on several nutrition committees, manages the Board Program Committee and the Science Leadership Council, and supports the emerging science process. Marie has held various positions in scientific organizations in the United States and Europe, and was Research Director for the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences.
