Queen Margherita Trattoria entered this year’s biscuit recipe competition. Here’s how to vote for them in the finals.
NUTLEY, N.J. — Regardless of the outcome of the latest biscuit recipe contest, one thing remains true about Nutley’s Queen Margherita Trattoria. That said, they can make really delicious looking desserts.
The Nutley Restaurant, located at 246 Washington Ave., was recently announced as one of the finalists in General Mills Foodservice’s second annual contest to “celebrate biscuits of all flavors and shapes.”

This year’s four finalists include Queen Margherita Trattoria, which won high praise for its “banana and chocolate pudding with biscuits and vanilla ice cream.” (See photo above).
Other finalists include:
- Blue Bamboo Canton Bistro in Jacksonville, Florida – Mini Korean Biscuit Dogs
- Dixie Grill in Live Oak, Florida – Strawberry Cream Biscuit Bites
- Rustic Saloon in Montero, Wisconsin – Bisgrit Shrimp
Queen Margherita Trattoria and the other finalists have already won $5,000 in prize money for making it this far. They will now compete for a $20,000 prize. The winner will be decided after a public vote that runs until April 30th. You can vote for your favorite on her website for General Mills Food Service. (click here).
To enter the contest, commercial restaurant chefs, owners, and employees must submit an original recipe using Pillsbury biscuit products and two or more additional ingredients on the contest website, Facebook, or Instagram for an original biscuit recipe. You were asked to upload and share a photo. Submitted recipes will be judged by Chefs of the Mills, a team of culinary experts at General Mills Foodservice, who will evaluate the recipes for originality, foodservice feasibility, creativity, and The top candidates were selected based on how well they implemented them.
“The 2024 finalists truly demonstrate how biscuits can play a starring role on menus,” said Chefs of the Mills, who helped judge this year’s entries. said one chef, Kevin Relf.
