Mental health nonprofit supporting horses in Southern Oregon has been selected as a charitable partner by Horse for Mental Health

Ashland-based nonprofit Riding Beyond was selected as a charitable partner to participate in Horses for Mental Health’s 2024 Seen Through Horses awareness and fundraising campaign this May. The annual campaign helps raise awareness and provide critical funding to support nonprofit organizations that incorporate horses into mental health and personal growth services.

Seen Through Horses is a peer-to-peer awareness campaign where people, nonprofits, mental health professionals, celebrities, influencers, and businesses raise funds to increase awareness and social participation and improve access to these valuable programs. It’s a campaign.

This campaign will run through May 2024. At the end of the campaign, 100% of the funds raised (excluding credit card fees) will be donated directly to the donating organization.

Since 2013, Riding Beyond has been responding to the breast cancer epidemic and the challenges associated with grueling treatment through life-changing experiences with horses. While medical teams focus on the physical aftereffects, Riding Beyond also looks at the many emotional aftereffects. And a mental challenge. These challenges are often unexpected and women often feel unprepared on how to find recovery and rejuvenation.

Riding Beyond utilizes research-proven therapeutic practices used with veterans and multicultural elements such as music, storytelling, creative expression, and body-based practices that reconnect participants with family and friends. This opens the door to improved physical and mental health for participants. , community and yourself. Over the past two years, Riding Beyond has expanded its services to people experiencing stress from the pandemic, wildfires and other debilitating mental health issues.

Premier partners supporting the Seen Through Horses campaign include The American Horse Council, American Psychological Association’s Section on Human-Animal Interaction (APA HAI), Arenas for Change (ARCH), Black in the Saddle, Equine Network, and EQUUS Films & Arts , including EQUUS Television. Network, Horses & Humans Research Foundation, Institute for Human-Animal Connection, Natural Lifemanship, New Trails Learning Systems, PATH International, Polyvagal Equine Institute, Rural Minds, Temple Grandin Equine Center (CSU), The HERD Institute, US Equestrian.

About Riding Beyond

Riding Beyond began in 2013 as a group of people who recognize the life-changing benefits of a heart-to-heart relationship with horses through a program for women suffering from the after-effects of breast cancer treatment with little access to medical care. Ta. Riding Beyond builds widespread community awareness about the needs of people who need help recovering from trauma and how a relationship with horses as sentient beings can foster deep healing. .

Riding Beyond joins the growing medical profession from cancer treatment to post-treatment health strategies through personal and conference presentations.

Riding Beyond also trains equine assisted therapy professionals around the world in Riding Beyond models.

About Scene Through Horse

Seen Through Horses is a peer-to-peer campaign of individuals, nonprofits, mental health professionals, influencers, and businesses to improve access to programs that incorporate horses for mental health and personal growth. We are raising awareness, public engagement, and funding to make this happen.

Horses can bring much-needed change to the mental health challenges facing many people around the world. Seen Through Horses aims to convene communities, empower nonprofits, and share stories of change to illustrate the positive impact of incorporating horses into mental health services and programs.

The campaign is made up of mental health and equine experts who have dedicated their lives to supporting both horses and humans. The Seen Through Horses campaign is brought to life by title sponsor Zoetis and executive producer Horses for Mental Health.
