Erewhon Market, a high-end grocery store in Los Angeles, has become known for its smoothie collaborations with celebrities. Similar to its famous celebrity-promoted drink “Millions of Milkshakes” in the early 2000s, Erewhon partners with various A-list celebrities to sell drinks alongside promoting their work.
These collabs, like Temecula native Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good for Your Guts” smoothie, reality star Kendall Jenner’s “Peaches & Cream” smoothie and model Winnie Harlow’s “Island Glow” smoothie, have fans lining up to buy the drinks, which cost around $20. Hailey Bieber’s “Strawberry Glazed Skin” smoothie was so popular it inspired a new ice cream pint flavor with Cosmic Bliss. The grocer’s latest collaboration isn’t with a celebrity, though: It was with the brand Vacation on a sunscreen drink inspired by the company’s staple lotion.

So many weren’t surprised when news spread on social media this week that the latest celebrity-endorsed smoothie was from singer Charli XCX to promote her latest album, “Brat.” The only problem? The smoothie isn’t real.
Creator Daniel Preda (@misterpreda on TikTok) shared the new smoothie on his account as part of a series on his channel where he tests trending foods and drinks to determine whether they are “#1 Hater Approved.” Preda has reviewed some Erewhon treats on his channel in the past, so viewers were not surprised when he introduced the drink at the start of his video.
“Charli XCX has teamed up with Erewhon to create an exclusive BRAT smoothie,” Preda said. “It’s $31 and we’ll see if your #1 hater approves. It’s a worldwide exclusive.”

In the video, which has been viewed more than 500,000 times, Preda goes to Erewhon, grabs a smoothie from the counter, and tastes it in his car. “I applaud their creativity because this is probably the coolest smoothie ever,” he says. After listing the ingredients, he tastes the smoothie. “The taste profile is very interesting. You get the bitterness of the lime. Brazilian lemonade is made with water, lime and condensed milk, and it’s so tasty. It’s one of my favorite drinks.”
Preda continues to praise the drink throughout the video: “I’d go so far as to say this may be my favorite smoothie ever. Points to Erewhon for their creativity and originality.”
He appears to end the video by saying that his collaboration with Charli XCX, Bratz Smoothie, is what he’s most recognized for among his haters, but in fact, that’s not where the video ends.
After the screen goes black, Preda continues filming at the 2:48 mark. With just under a minute left in the video, Preda reveals to viewers that the smoothie is “a fictional collaboration that I created myself.” Preda says he came up with the smoothie to pay tribute to his love for Charli XCX and her sixth studio album. He created his own drink, loaded with his favorite brands, ingredients, and flavors that he loves.
However, despite Preda clarifying that the smoothie doesn’t exist, fan and pop culture social media accounts reported the news of the high-end grocery store’s new beverage collaboration.
In a now-deleted post, popular Twitter account PopCrave, known for sharing headlines focused on entertainment news, shared the announcement about the drink: “Charli xcx launches new ‘BRAT’ smoothie on @ErewhonMarket. Brazilian Matcha Lemonade Smoothie for $31.” The post was viewed over 160,000 times before being deleted, with no correction posted.

Another TikTok creator, Alyssa Young (@_alyssayung_), vlogged her journey to get her hands on a new Erewhon smoothie, only to discover that it doesn’t exist. After commenters told her that the original creator had clarified at the end of the video that the smoothie wasn’t real, she responded to other users’ comments and shared that she hadn’t watched the video to the end.
