The first recipient of the Newark Business Awards’ Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Award was ANASA Boutique Reformer Pilates.
The category was introduced this year and is open to any business or organisation involved in the provision of leisure, tourism and visitor attractions.
ANASA Boutique Reformer Pilates offers innovative fitness methods in an intimate environment typically unavailable in larger cities.
“It’s amazing, we can’t believe it,” Margarita Papadopoulou and George Koutsothanasis said of receiving the award.
“Our focus is the community, and we started from scratch, and this community has grown, and not only our customers, but Newark as a whole, other businesses have grown.
“We want to work with other businesses to make Newark a better place. We say we can all deliver.”

ANASA is focused on creating a place where results can be achieved in a fun and welcoming way. We have developed classes for all ages, from children to seniors, and all fitness levels, from fitness beginners to athletes.
As a result, around 300 people from across Newark county and further afield, including Grantham, Nottingham, Lincoln, Sleaford and Mansfield, attend classes every week, increasing visitors to Newark city centre.
Highly commended in this category was the Midland Fitness Games.
Based at Newark Showground is a fitness events company that runs competitions for athletes across the UK, allowing them to test their fitness and strength against other athletes whilst having a fun experience.
We run a variety of events throughout the year and cater for all ability levels.
Approximately 700 people attend these events over the weekend – 350+ athletes and their families/spectators. Most of these athletes will be staying overnight in the town and surrounding area.
They also encourage local vendors to set up stalls and stands at the event.
With games selling out, the company is constantly looking for ways to improve and expand, whether that be adding more days or more facilities.
