ALLIANCE, Ohio (WOIO) – New police body camera footage obtained by 19 Investigates shows a Pennsylvania man and woman arrested after they allegedly used fraudulent coupons to steal $1,600 worth of Ensure nutrition shakes from two Alliance grocery stores.
Saud Kanan, 27, and Asma Kanan, 25, both of Sharon, Pennsylvania, were arrested in the parking lot outside the Marks store on West State Street in Alliance on Wednesday at approximately 7:20 p.m.

The video shows the suspects standing next to a Penske rental van pulling a shopping cart full of Ensure drinks.
Alliance police said the pair purchased $892.73 worth of merchandise at the store, including an 80-pack of Endure, then used 190 fraudulent coupons at checkout to reduce the total price to $43.94.
Investigators said Asma Kanan saw police entering the store and left a second shopping cart containing 60 packs of Ensure.
In addition to the shakes in the shopping cart, officers also found hundreds of packets of Ensure in the back of the van. Police say they believe the bottled drinks were illegally obtained from Marks stores in Boardman and Salem.

The suspects also are accused of stealing $703.36 worth of Ensure from Meijer in Alliance on June 11.
Police said Saud Kanan filled two carts with 84 packs of Ensure, then went to the self-checkout registers and scanned 20 packs of the drinks before using 20 fraudulent coupons.
Investigators said the culprits did not inspect the remaining 64 drink cartons and instead loaded all 84 into a Penske van outside the grocery store.

Police said the total value of merchandise stolen from the Alliance store was $1,596.09.
The Kanans were charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony, and booked into the Stark County Jail.
They were released Thursday on $10,000 bail, court records show.
The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned in Alliance District Court on Friday afternoon.
