The 36-year-old daughter of the mayor of Nepal’s semi-metropolitan Dhangadi has gone missing in Goa, where she had been living for the past few months.
Aarti Hamal, a follower of Osho meditation, was last seen near Ashvem Bridge in Pernem taluka around 9:30 pm on Monday (March 25).
According to reports in Nepali newspapers, Aarti, who goes by the name Artusha Hamal Dhyan Leela on the social media platform Facebook, had been associated with the Osho Meditation Center for the past few months.
How did the mayor of Nepal know that his daughter was missing?
Gopal Hamal, the mayor of Dhangadi sub-metropolis and Aarti’s father, appealed for help in finding his eldest daughter on social media platform X.
The mayor said Aarti Zorba Vives Ashwem Breeze could not be contacted after a friend of Aarti contacted him about her disappearance.
“My eldest daughter, Aarti, is an Osho meditator who has been living in Goa for several months now. However, her friend informed me that she has not been able to contact Aarti Zorba Vibes Ashwem Breeze since yesterday (March 25). We have received your message. We request all those living in Goa to help us find our daughter Aarti,” Gopal Hamal’s post on X said.
The mayor of Nepal’s semi-metropolitan city, Dhangadi, further informed that his second daughter Arzoo Hamal and son-in-law were flying to Goa to look for Aarti.
“I kindly request you to contact me at 9794096014 / 8273538132 / 9389607953 to provide the necessary assistance in finding my daughter,” Gopal Hamal posted on X.
Aarti was last seen on a bridge near Siorim.
Aarti’s brother Arzoo Hamal said in a Facebook post that his sister was last seen on a bridge near Siolim, according to some callers.
“Ever since we left for Lucknow from Nepal, we have received over 500 calls. They are still calling us even after 12 o’clock. Some of them have been very kind to us. is forever grateful to them. According to some callers, the last time she was seen was on a bridge near Siorim, where she was found unconscious and taken by ambulance to the hospital. Few believe she was taken to the hospital, but others say she was taken to the police station.
“Our well-meaning people who are trying to reach out and help are looking for hospitals and police stations in and around the area. But so far nothing is really clear,” Arzoo said. he added.
Search begins for Nepal mayor’s missing daughter
Goa police has registered a missing person complaint. She has been reported missing since March 25 and a search team has been formed to search for Aarti.
The search for Aarti intensified after officials said initial searches across hospitals in the area failed to locate her.
