Valentine’s Day, also known as the day of love, is traditionally marked by heart-shaped chocolates and roses. But at Energy4Life Center, a naturopathic clinic specializing in brain regeneration, we take a different approach.
“There’s a movement going on here in the mountains,” said Dr. Greg Eckel, a physician and founder of the center, which opened in 2022. “The whole culture of Park City is health conscious. …People who love life live here.”
For these enthusiasts, the center will host a sound bath and cacao ceremony on February 13th ahead of Valentine’s Day. This is the first event to give a taste of what the center has to offer its customers.
Eckel said their treatments use sound and light and harness frequencies to heal and strengthen the body.
“When we immerse people in sound baths and frequencies, we find that it actually helps regulate our nervous systems and creates a sense of connection and community,” he said.
A sound bath is an auditory experience in which sound waves created in a sound bowl are “washed over” to the participant. At the center, sessions are held in a room with mats and pillows on the floor, and maestros also use gongs and chimes. These can be used to gain so-called “mental coherence,” Eckel said, and that’s what the center is planning for the holidays.
“Perfect for Valentine’s Day. It allows our hearts to resonate and be consistent with each other so that our bodies can actually receive more love,” he said. Ta. “That, in turn, creates more love in the world.”
After the session, the group will discuss individually how the sound affected them. A traditional cocoa ceremony, a unique Valentine’s Day activity, will also be held during the event.
“Cacao is known as a heart-opener. It is medicine for the soul, and when you travel to places where cacao trees are grown, such as Guatemala, Ecuador, Central America, South America, and Africa, you will notice a lot of respect for the cacao tree. is born. It speaks to the heart energetically,” Eckel said.
Cacao served in its natural form is very different from today’s slopeside hot chocolate, he said. It’s richer, luscious, and much less sweet.
“This is no ordinary hot chocolate. This is a powerful heart medicine. And really, I encourage everyone to come and try it. For those who haven’t experienced it yet, it’s really a great treat. ” he said.
Although this is in honor of Valentine’s Day, the center may still offer cacao ceremonies depending on interest and experience, he said.
The event is scheduled for Feb. 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and is not limited to couples.
“We thought people might have other plans for Valentine’s Day,” Eckel said. “The entire month of February is also Heart Health Awareness Month. That way, you get two dates.”
