Food and Nutrition Service employees dedicate their professional lives to ensuring that every person in America has access to delicious, nutritious food and science-based nutrition education. As we conclude Women’s History Month, we honor the women who work to keep 16 nutrition assistance programs running smoothly for those who need them most.
Janell Conway manages a team that provides nutrition-related technical assistance to USDA food programs, including the Emergency Food Assistance Program and the Indian Reservation Food Distribution Program. The food served through these programs is grown, produced, and processed right here in the United States.
Janelle says: “It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you come from, or what you do for a living. Food brings us all together. I have the opportunity to play a role in providing healthy food options to families across the country. I am honored to have been asked to do so.”
