This funding will help NCNM continue its groundbreaking work in education, research, and advocacy.
Since its founding in 2020, NCNM has rapidly established itself as a leader in integrative medicine, thanks to a generous gift from the Blackmore Foundation.
Clinical trials conducted by NCNM over the past four years have investigated naturopathic treatments for diabetes, brain tumors, and Parkinson’s disease. Ongoing research is exploring integrative health options in a variety of scenarios, from disaster management and mental health to veteran care and lifestyle modification.
NCNM Foundation Trustee Professor John Wardle said the center was focused on meaningful change in healthcare.
“It’s important to us that we change the conversation around health. We are committed to helping patients become active participants in their treatment journey,” Professor Wardle said.
NCNM experts contribute to public health reports on self-care, health policy and legal advocacy, as well as developing benefit-sharing frameworks for indigenous medicines and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) We have also contributed to long-term research on the novel coronavirus in humans.
Marcus Blackmore AM, who was awarded an honorary doctorate from Southern Cross University in 2006, said: “We have a responsibility to meet Australia’s growing healthcare needs, and evidence-based natural medicine is the best way to do that.” “They will play an increasingly active role in the response.”
NCNM offers comprehensive training programs in naturopathic, lifestyle, and integrative medicine. These include clinical training programs that combine a Bachelor of Health Science (Health and Lifestyle) followed by a Master of Naturopathic Medicine to become a clinical naturopath, as well as advanced naturopathic medicine, lifestyle medicine and integrative medicine. Includes a series of graduate courses.
