The National Alliance on Mental Illness, known locally as NAMI Chattanooga, hosted a community kickoff to mark the official start of the NAMIWalks event season.
NAMIWalks is a mental health event series where participants share stories, build community, and walk together to achieve mental health for all.
NAMIWalks Chattanooga, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, will be held at Ross Landing on Sept. 22. The walk begins at 2 p.m. and is free to attend, but participants must pre-register. To register and for more information, visit www.NamiWalks.org/Chattanooga.
Marc Barclay, senior vice president of Provider Network Management at BCBST, will serve as the event’s first chair. The goal is to raise a minimum of $100,000. 100% of funds raised will go directly toward NAMI Chattanooga’s mission of education, advocacy, support and public awareness.
