Namaste Dwar, a luxury resort property promoted by Namaste Holidays, is located in Mansurpur, the midway point for tourists travelling from Delhi to Haridwar and beyond, and has plans to add more to its Mansurpur offering. Starting with Namaste Midway, India’s pioneering highway food street, a decade ago, the owners, the Rathi family, expanded their offerings with a 45-room resort a few years ago and now have plans to add a new dimension in the form of a luxury wellness village on their 12-acre site adjacent to NH-58. The new section has been conceived as a wellness village with a dedicated entrance and exit, according to resort director Erica Rathi. The village will have 16 accommodation units. It is currently under construction and is expected to be completed within the next six months, she said. While the wellness village will focus on yoga and wellness therapy with dedicated doctors and staff, guests will also get a chance to experience village life in Mansurpur, Rathi said.
He said the resort is envisioned as a wellness resort, with health and wellness being a big focus for the property. “We are also currently renovating the spa,” he said.
Abundant with local architectural details, the resort features a stately ‘dwar’ whose walls are made of local Lakori bricks, making it uniquely visible from afar along the highway. Designed by renowned architect Pradeep Sachdeva, who was also behind Delhi’s Dilli Haat and Garden of Senses, Namaste Dwar features local art and craftworks throughout the premises. The famous Athangadi tiles from Chettinad, Tamil Nadu grace the lobby. In the lobby area, guests are treated to pictures of a bygone era captured by the camera of legendary photographer Sir Deen Dayal, who was also a member of the first batch of students at IIT Roorkee. Reflecting on its first year of full-fledged operations, Dayal said the resort has been able to fill the void of luxury accommodation between Delhi and other spiritual and leisure destinations in Uttarakhand. Located on a busy national highway yet surrounded by vast sugarcane fields, the facility is popular with corporate retreats, families and social groups alike, she said.
Guests will have a complete village experience by interacting with local villagers and getting a chance to know about agriculture and other farm activities. The hotel also features indoor games, telescopes for stargazing, kids simulators and a cinema hall, she said.
Mr Rathi said the resort management was initially reluctant to accommodate wedding business but has since started accepting boutique weddings and has hosted many weddings, including international marriages, in the past six months. He said the resort has lots of open areas, including lawn areas, pool areas and farm sides, making it perfect for the wedding business.
When it comes to food and beverage options, there is a plethora of options available at the resort and at the Namaste Midway food court, which has all the international brands including McDonald’s, Starbucks and Naivedyam.
The resort recently partnered with hotel marketing firm Amor Hospitality to help with sales, marketing and guest experience design, with the goal of activating sales and marketing through both B2C and B2B channels to close the significant gap between weekday and weekend occupancy rates.
