In a significant development aimed at improving the quality and standards of healthcare in Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy) hospitals, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) seeks feedback An announcement was made. Based on existing certification standards.

This initiative is a pivotal step towards the development of the first edition of the Unified Accreditation Standards for Ayush Hospitals in line with ISQua EEA guidelines.

Dr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, CEO of NABH, emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement in this process and said, “The integration of Ayush Hospital accreditation standards will help ensure quality health services across diverse health systems. We encourage all stakeholders to provide valuable feedback to enrich the development of these standards.”

The current accreditation standards for Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Yoga & Naturopathy, Siddha and Unani Hospitals are Ayurvedic Hospitals 2nd Edition (2016), Homeopathy Hospitals (2016), Yoga & Naturopathy Hospitals (2017) , and Ayurvedic Hospitals 1st Edition (2017). Siddha Hospital (2009) and Unani Hospital (2009) will be reviewed and strengthened.

Stakeholders such as medical professionals, practitioners, institutions, and the public are encouraged to participate in the feedback process. Dr. Kochhar said, “The insights and suggestions provided by stakeholders will play a key role in shaping the future of Ayush Hospital accreditation standards and ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.” I emphasized.

Feedback can be submitted through the designated feedback form available on the NABH website or by scanning the QR code provided. The deadline to submit feedback is April 15, 2024.

“The move to integrate Ayush Hospital accreditation standards reflects NABH’s commitment to fostering excellence in healthcare delivery across diverse health systems. We aim to develop comprehensive, integrated standards that maintain the highest levels of quality and patient care in hospitals. As our health care system continues to evolve, these efforts will help ensure that hospitals are accessible, safe and accessible to all. “This highlights the importance of collaboration and continuous improvement to ensure quality health services in the United States,” Dr. Kochar said.

ISQua EEA has developed guidelines and standards for the Standards Awareness Program to facilitate the assessment of standards in health and social care that focus on specific clinical services or aspects of care. These may include standards such as infectious disease prevention and control, stroke services, and clinical risk management.
