From serums to red light therapy, there are many different ways to tackle wrinkles.
A woman has revealed the DIY hacks she uses to prevent visible signs of skin ageing.
Commenting on the Reddit post, user Starcat222 shared how he learned this simple trick.
The poster explained that the skill had been passed down in her family.
She switched to an all-natural solution for her anti-aging skincare regimen.
“My grandmother would buy aloe vera plants, split them open, and apply the mucus to her skin,” one Reddit user said.
This social media user decided to try her hand at gardening after seeing her grandmother growing plants.
“She died at 79 years old, and her skin was so radiant, her face barely had any wrinkles,” she explained.
Experts from the National Library of Medicine studied the role of aloe vera in anti-aging.
A survey of 30 women over the age of 45 found that “facial wrinkles were significantly improved.”

“Aloe gel significantly improves wrinkles and elasticity in photoaged human skin,” the researchers concluded.
The experts reported “increased collagen production and decreased expression of the collagen-degrading MMP-1 gene in photoprotected skin.”
Skin care experts have yet to determine whether the concentration level of aloe affects results.
WebMD also explains how aloe vera gel can help with aging skin.
While it won’t erase existing wrinkles, this ingredient is effective in preventing further fine lines from appearing.
“Old lines and wrinkles don’t go away. [but] “Aloe vera may help prevent new signs of aging around the eyes,” the researchers said.
“Aloe vera’s compounds also help the skin produce collagen and elastin.”

This means the gel can “make skin look smoother and more elastic.”
They also explained the best way to utilize the gel extracted from the aloe vera plant.
“To use fresh aloe vera, you first need to cut a piece from the plant,” the expert says.
“Use a spoon or other tool to extract the gel from the leaves and massage a small amount onto your skin.
“Use the gel just like you would a face cream.”
