Model, celebrity and Big Brother star Alicia Duvall has shared her anti-aging tips for plump, youthful-looking skin.
However, although she loves good skin care, she is not very interested in creams and prefers other skin care products entirely.
The former Celebrity Big Brother UK star and co-founder of Dval’s Skincare says there are many do’s and don’ts to look great.
She shared anti-aging advice with The US Sun that anyone can follow.
SPF status
Alicia, 44, stressed the importance of protecting your skin from the sun.
“Always wear SPF with broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection,” she said.
According to the self-confessed former plastic surgery addict, natural zinc SPF provides instant sun protection just by applying it, unlike chemical SPF that takes time to take effect.
But don’t assume you’re safe from the sun’s rays just because you’re indoors or flying.
“Did you know that UVA rays still come through airplane windows and can cause skin aging?” she said.
“Please wear sunscreen before boarding the plane!”

moisture magic
As aging skin tends to be dry, Alicia insists that “it’s all about hydrating and plumping your skin and body.”
That’s exactly why argan oil is scientifically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and it’s the main ingredient in many of her brand’s products.
Douvall’s Beauty Organic First Cold Pressed Argan Oil ($46) is the company’s best seller and is available at Walmart.
“It’s rich in fatty acids that plump the skin,” said the founder.
While many beauty experts have already shared how great water is for your skin, the model also said that the high water content found in fruits and vegetables can also benefit your skin.
Examples include watermelon, cucumber, grapefruit, orange, lettuce, and celery.
“Hydration is key to maintaining skin elasticity,” Alicia added.
Less is better
While there’s a lot of talk about an anti-inflammatory diet, Alicia said anti-inflammatory skin care is also important.
“The fewer chemicals you put on your skin, the better,” she added.
This is exactly why hormone patches are so effective, she explained, because “what you put on your skin goes into your body.”
“When you overcomplicate your skin care with chemicals, your body doesn’t know what to do with it, and your cells have to work harder,” she said.
Alicia has a simple rule of thumb when it comes to skin care.
“If you can’t eat it, you usually don’t want it on your skin,” she said.
Dermatologist-approved anti-aging tips
Dermatologist Dr. Brendan Camp shared some dermatologist-approved tips with the US Sun.

Comparison of oil and cream
“I’m a big believer in using oils instead of creams,” Starr said.
She explained that creams are at least 60% to 85% water, while oils are highly hydrating and contain antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins.
Oil not only nourishes the skin, but also protects and repairs it.
She also said they protect against free radicals that can accelerate the aging process.
This strengthens the skin’s barrier, retains moisture, and further resists external stressors.
