The Food and Nutrition Security Crisis Preparedness Workshop will take place from Wednesday, May 29th to Thursday, May 30th, 2024 at Hotel Alexandria.
This pivotal event will bring together diverse stakeholders from various ministries and government agencies to develop a comprehensive National Food Security and Nutrition Crisis Plan for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The workshop aims to develop a detailed plan for managing a major food and nutrition security crisis. The workshop will outline a process for proactively monitoring and identifying potential crisis risks, step-by-step procedures, defined roles, and timelines for mobilizing additional resources and initiating early action.
The plan creates an operational framework designed to support systematic recognition of emerging crises.
This will ensure rapid action by governments, humanitarian and development partners, including international collaborators, to prevent and mitigate the impacts of future food and nutrition security crises.
By bringing together experts and stakeholders from different sectors, the workshop represents a proactive approach to strengthening SVG’s resilience against potential food and nutrition security threats.
