Some argue that there are many connections between ourselves and the environment, and that it is important to keep them strong. In a peaceful setting, sustainability professor Angela Miller Porter will join her EcoReps for a guided mindfulness and sustainability session on April 11th.
This event is a one-hour meditation focused on sustainable practices and self-awareness.
“Similar to Professor Miller-Porter’s teaching style, this event is a way for people to connect with sustainability and become more environmentally aware,” said Outreach Intern Lewis Goff. “Life is so busy, this is an opportunity for people to slow down to reflect and refocus on the environment and sustainable aspirations.”
Goff explained that the event aims to improve personal well-being and raise environmental awareness. EcoReps strives to motivate students to live as sustainably as possible and offers new ways to do so.

“As college students, it’s common to feel helpless and unable to sustainably survive with busy coursework and limited budgets,” says Goff. “When pulled by other important aspects of life, students can feel disconnected from sustainability and the efforts they have made. This event will help them re-establish their connection to the earth and We address these issues and reduce stress by finding solutions on an individual basis.”
The event will be held at 1311 Jamrich from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Students interested in participating should RSVP at the hub.
