Michelle reprized her role as Kate Thorne on the hit show.
The BBC series follows nurse Thorne and members of the Roberts family, Terry and Annie, as they struggle to adapt to life as immigrants in Australia.
The first series, produced by Eleven and co-produced by Stan and the BBC, was loved by fans and a second series was soon in development.
A synopsis for the upcoming series reads: “After a difficult first year in Australia, the new series follows the adventures of nurse Kate Thorne (Michelle Keegan) and the Roberts family (led by Faye Marsay and Warren Brown) in 1957. Years to come. Because they are determined to make this new country everything they wanted for a fresh start.
“Will Kate, Terry and Annie finally get the piece of the Australian dream they were promised?”
Series two introduces viewers to new characters, the Skinner family from Ireland and unscrupulous landowner Benny Bates.
Speaking after the second series was confirmed, the show’s writer, creator and executive producer, Danny Brocklehurst, said: “We’ve been really pleased with the positive audience response to Ten Pound Poms.”
“We have unearthed a little-known part of our recent history and told a story that reflects the reality of the real Poms who have made this journey.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up again with the BBC, Stan and Eleven to continue our characters’ adventures underground.”
