Megan Thee Stallion has taken an important step to look after her mental health amid her growing fame.
As the spotlight intensifies, the hip-hop sensation has realized the importance of setting personal boundaries to balance his public and private lives.
“When I was starting out, I didn’t really understand what it meant to be a celebrity, so it was definitely easier to just be myself,” Megan told L’Officials USA. “I didn’t understand that I shouldn’t give everyone my all all the time. I didn’t know what the boundaries were. I didn’t have any boundaries. I just lived. And then as I grew up, I came to understand that I don’t have to be this all the time for everyone. I can still be myself, but I need to have some respect for myself.”
Despite facing the harsh realities of fame, the “Savage” rapper has also worked to embrace himself and not worry too much about public opinion.
“I don’t really want to care about who hates me. I need to focus on the love I’m receiving,” she stressed. “That’s what I’m trying to improve right now. It’s not all going to be okay all the time. If you’re here for the cheers, you should be here for the boos too.”
She realized it was impossible to juggle her desire to be liked by everyone.
“I want everyone to like me. I want to be the baddest. I want to be the best. But I want to do it the right way. I’ve had to learn that there’s no right way. You can do it the right way, no matter who you are,” Megan Thee Stallion reasoned.
