Health advocate and 8Greens founder Dawn Russell joins the TODAY Food team for this week’s Wellness Wednesday to share her favorite good-for-you recipes that she says will help curb sugar cravings. Here are two. She shows us how to make cool, creamy no-cook cucumber soup with fresh herbs and sugar-free banana and oat cookies with dried fruit and crunchy nuts.
Creamy Cucumber and Avocado Soup by Dawn Russell
This no-cook soup is super easy, delicious, and my family loves it (everyone in the family ate three bowls each!). Its cool, creamy consistency means it can be enjoyed in a bowl or straight from a mug. It is also rich in healthy ingredients. Avocados are rich in fiber and healthy fats, and Greek yogurt contains probiotics.

These cookies offer a healthier and more delicious option in place of the usual sweet ingredients. This is the first healthy cookie in the world that I’ve seen children inhale. Not only does it have no added sugar, but it’s also rich in fiber, antioxidants, protein, and vegetables. Crafting is a fun activity to do with your kids.
