Loyola University Maryland’s Office of Mission Integration is inviting members of the Baltimore community to participate in a spiritual retreat and prayer program inspired by St. Ignatius Loyola, a nine-month program beginning this September.
To learn more, tune into the information session on Zoom on Thursday, August 8th from 7-8:30pm.
“Our approach, proposed by Ignatius himself, is a way for busy people to recognize God’s presence in their daily lives through prayerful and potentially transformative retreats,” said Father Steve Spahn, assistant professor of theology and associate director of the Office of Mission Integration. “Over a nine-month course of daily prayer, journaling and regular conversations with a spiritual director while reading Scripture, you can experience the same grace-rich movement and discovery that a select few have during 30 days of secluded silence.”
About 250 people have participated in the program since it began eight years ago. To learn more, join a Zoom information session, or complete an online self-assessment application, visit the program’s webpage.
Loyola University of Maryland is the first institution of higher education in the United States to be named after Saint Ignatius, the Catholic priest who founded the Society of Jesus (the Society of Jesus).
