Three fitness buddies have teamed up to open Arco Fit Gym & Wellness, a locally owned, family-run gym set to open in Fulshear.
Co-founders Jason McCourt, Jeremy Cogar and Matt Caldwell wanted to offer an experience that wasn’t available at other gyms: high-quality amenities at an affordable price, McCourt said.
“We’re essentially trying to build the gym of our dreams,” he said, describing it as a “passion project” for the three.

The 27,000-square-foot facility will feature a selection of cardio and strength-training equipment, separate saunas for men and women, retail, a smoothie bar, a kids’ area and a pose room, McCourt said.
The posing room, where members can practice poses using lights and mirrors, was an important amenity for McCourt, Koger and Caldwell, all of whom are competitive bodybuilders, McCourt said.
In addition to the equipment, gym members also enjoy the following services:
- Individual and group training
- Speed and Agility Training for Student Athletes
- Group fitness classes such as Zumba, yoga and mat pilates
- Reformer Pilates (additional charge)

The gym is located in Marcel Gardens Town Center, a shopping center under development near the FM 1093 entrance in Cross Creek Ranch, and McCourt said the location will allow it to serve residents who don’t have a gym nearby.
“As development moves further west, our location will be important to them because some people currently drive 45 minutes one way to get to Life Time Fitness,” he said.
What’s next?
Arco Fit Gym & Wellness will be offering a discounted membership rate of $80 per month for single members through August, with founding members also receiving discounts at the on-site shop, McCourt said. After the founding sign-up period, the single membership rate will increase to $100 per month.
