Local woman reaches halfway point of wall Pilates challenge

Midway through testing the 28-Day Wall Pilates Challenge, a Massachusetts woman is starting to see some results. Torrance Brown and her trainer Regina Hayes are working hard to take on the challenge at the West Roxbury YMCA. Brown said: Now on day 15, Hayes is coaching Brown through a Pilates workout using the Better Me app. Brown is her mother, and she is a five-time champion with the Boston Renegades women’s professional football team. She continues her efforts to see if this challenge is successful. ”I don’t feel as much pain and I feel like I have more range of motion in my back, hips and rotations, so that’s an advantage. ” Now that I’m halfway through my 28-day Pilates challenge, the big question is: did something go wrong? Has there been any progress? Hayes checked Brown’s measurements again and noted any changes. “How’s your nutrition?” Hayes asked. “It’s a work in progress. Halloween came, Halloween spoke and Reese’s Cup was won,” Brown said. What are her results so far? “Actually, her hips have dropped a little bit and she said her lower hips and back are feeling better, which is probably a good indicator. And there’s been no change in her individual thighs, and her arms are 4″ 1 lower, and then the waist as well.” It was the smallest part of the torso, which was lowered a little to five-eighths. The abdomen, the part directly from the navel, is slightly raised. That was the candy she was talking about. The measure was 3/8 inch,” Hayes said. “I’m pleasantly surprised that the numbers didn’t go up, but I know that nutrition is very important, so I know I have to adjust my nutrition a little bit.” Back on the mat, Brown gets to work. She is more determined than ever for the next half of the challenge. “All you really need is 20 minutes. Honestly, if you have the mindfulness to adapt to it, it’s easy to adapt to it,” Brown said. Two more weeks, then you will see the full results.

“It’s getting a little bit easier. My brain understands what I have to do and I’m getting more comfortable,” Brown said.

On Day 15, Hayes guides Brown through a Pilates workout using the Better Me app.

Brown is a mother and a five-time champion with the Boston Renegades women’s professional football team. She has continued her efforts to see if her challenge will be successful.

“Sure, I took a few days off, but one thing I’ve learned just by moving my body every day and doing certain movements that I don’t normally do is that my back pain doesn’t hurt as much, it feels like it hurts. I mean it feels like it. It gives you more range of motion and rotation in your back and hips, so that’s an advantage.”

Now that I’m halfway through my 28-day Pilates challenge, the big question is: have I made any progress?
