A woman has shared insight into her glamorous life teaching Pilates and running a spa on a superyacht.
Violetta started out as a stewardess on a 100m superyacht and has spent the past 13 years working her way up to running her own spa on the boat.
She said she could spend half her days teaching Pilates in her state-of-the-art gym and the other half massaging clients at her spa.
She said on the Seaworthy Stew podcast: “I have access to some of the best equipment in the world and, more importantly, I get to teach people who are 100 percent committed to Pilates.”
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Violetta travels the world teaching others about her passion, visiting everywhere from the Caribbean to Croatia.
The Pilates teacher said the job was a “dream” and revealed that the equipment alone in her state-of-the-art gym is worth around £5,000.
She said she has had some great experiences since working on superyachts, including teaching Pilates to people on a helipad and hiking in the mountains with billionaire guests.
She added that you can go on a night out while chartering a yacht or drink “70,000 roses” at an exotic beach club.
Violetta says it’s very easy to start working on yachts, and there are countless online courses that can help.
“Anyone can get into this industry now if they’re willing to put in the work,” she said.
She added that her top tip for getting a “niche deal” like hers is to showcase your “special skills” through a dedicated Instagram account.
Superyachts are worth over £200m and are a popular holiday choice for the very wealthy.
As shows such as Below Deck have shown, superyacht staff can receive thousands of pounds in tips from guests after just a few days on board.
Although Violetta loves life on a superyacht, she said appearing on Below Deck was not for her as it offered an “entry-level” glimpse into the yachting industry.
She added that she was worried that she would be “badly edited” and end up becoming a “meme.”
Violetta said one of the things she misses about being a superyacht stewardess is the “flamboyant” costumes staff wear to serve dinner to guests.

She said, “Is this dinner service or the Victoria’s Secret catwalk?”
“If I could teach Pilates in a service dress, I would,” she joked.
Violetta said she has seen her superyacht colleagues go on to great careers, from bar managers in billionaires’ mansions to working as stewardesses on private jets.
