AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the Northeast’s first yoga and naturopathy hospital.
Around Rs 100 crore will be invested in the Central Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) at Dihin Kamtighat in eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district. The institute will be spread over 15 acres along with a 100-bed hospital.
The Institute is being built to create a scientifically valid and useful synergy between traditional knowledge of yoga and naturopathy and modern technological tools. Sonowal said it will establish benchmark standards in education, preventive health care, and research in yoga and naturopathy.
“CRIYN is being developed as a center of excellence for yoga and natural remedies for cardiovascular diseases in India and will develop management protocols for non-communicable diseases,” he said, adding that the institute will be a center of excellence for yoga and natural remedies for cardiovascular diseases in India. CRIYN provides inpatient, outpatient, and day care services. According to AYUSH officials, the services provided by the center will include naturopathic diet and nutrition, yoga therapy, massage and manual therapy, acupressure, acupuncture, chromotherapy, magnetic therapy, physical therapy and hydrotherapy. .
