As a legal researcher and avid reader, when I was first given this book to read, I read it to learn what the author wanted readers to know about naturopathic medicine and the law. I set a goal to finish it.

There is no doubt that Professor Nyarkoti Oboo is a prominent researcher in the field of naturopathic medicine in Ghana and a mentor to up-and-coming researchers. He is well known as far as the profession of naturopathic medicine in Ghana is concerned. This book is from the Latin res ipsa loquitur, which means that the thing (the book) speaks for itself, and Professor Nyarkoti Oboo has made his mark in the medical field as far as law and naturopathic medicine are concerned. He cannot be ignored, and it will take decades for someone to set a new record in this field. His name and Ghanaian natural remedies are similar to the jurisdiction of Ghana.

Despite its title, Professor Nyarkotei’s book is not limited to discussing only naturopathic medical practices. This includes an in-depth look at the Ghanaian legal system taught at LLB (LAW) level.

Don’t worry about the length of this book. The author has done extensive research on naturopathic medicine around the world and its use in the legal field, so it’s well worth reading. Medical negligence trials have not received much attention in Ghana. The belief that “fa ma nyame,” or “dedicate to God,” is ingrained in the thinking of many Ghanaians, but its tortuous parts are never subject to legal scrutiny in the courts of justice.

After reading this book, I think all law students should pay close attention to the topic of medical law, as medical negligence is becoming more common in Ghana.

It is a common law that everyone has the right to seek medical care that suits him or her, as succinctly stated in Article 30 of the 1992 Constitution. “A person who is unable to give consent due to illness or other reasons shall not be deprived of health care, education, or other social or economic benefits from another person solely on the basis of religious or other beliefs.”

It’s time to give patients the right to seek alternative medicine. Naturopathy is part of the alternative medical systems group. Nevertheless, it is a different system of medical practice in itself. In its most basic form, naturopathy is the practice of natural medicine focused on current scientific methodology. This book does not criticize mainstream medicine, but allows health professionals to incorporate a naturopathic approach to treatment.

What is interesting is that the book explains the concept of medical law in Chapter 3 (3) and then goes into detail about medical law and the elements of medical law. Did you know that medical law is broader than medical law? Health law, on the other hand, includes a wide range of health-related regulations, as well as procedural issues and the management of the public health system. Medical law is utilized in everyday work related to patient health, including life, bodily integrity, health, self-determination, and human dignity.

Did you know that there are numerous medical and healthcare laws in Ghana? In this book, the author has included all the medical and healthcare laws in Ghana for easy reference. How much have you read about medical and healthcare laws in Ghana? If you are faced with a violation of the law, you cannot claim that you do not know the law. Therefore, medical and healthcare workers should read this book to learn more about their field of work and to get the joy of overcoming challenges in medical and healthcare settings.

Law and the Practice of Naturopathic Medicine in Ghana is a veritable treasure trove of knowledge and thought-provoking analysis of the practice of naturopathic medicine and health ethics in Ghana. This book is written with clarity and attention to the numerous technical elements necessary to be relevant to medical professionals, law students, lawyers, judges, etc. This book will be useful to a broader audience: anyone interested in medicine and health care policy in general.
