Memorial Hospital of Carthage announces two Kids Summer Cooking Workshops led by Registered Dietitian and Chef Amber Clark from the Health & Wellness team to provide hands-on experience for children entering kindergarten or first grade .
“At Memorial Hospital, we believe in fostering healthy habits starting at an early age, and these workshops are a delicious way to do just that,” said Ashlyn Houseright, Executive Director of Community Health & Wellness at Memorial Hospital. “Having a culinary-trained chef and two registered dietitians with nutritional expertise leading these programs takes our classes to a new level.”
Pizza Party Workshop: Thursday, June 13th, 10am-12pm
On June 13, budding chefs will roll up their sleeves and dive into the world of pizza making. From kneading the dough to choosing toppings, participants will learn basic kitchen skills while also tapping into their creativity. With a limit of 10 participants per class, each child will receive individual instruction, ensuring a fun and safe environment for their culinary exploration.
Sweet Treats Workshop: Wednesday, July 24th, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The excitement continues with the Sweet Treats Workshop on July 24th. There, young chefs will learn how to make a variety of sweet treats using healthy ingredients. Focused on health and wellness, this workshop promises to not only satisfy your sweet tooth cravings, but also promote a balanced diet.
“These workshops are more than just cooking classes; they’re an opportunity for kids to have fun while learning valuable kitchen skills,” says Chef Amber Clarke.
