Following the incident in which she was slapped by a Central Indian Police Force (CISF) officer at Chandigarh airport, actor-turned-BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has slammed those making fun of the incident. She said those who are glorifying the violence against her should look into their own “psychological tendencies towards crime”.
On Friday, the Punjab Police filed a case against now-suspended CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur for assaulting Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport.
The incident drew widespread condemnation and Kangana had expressed her displeasure with a section of social media users, urging them to seek therapy and meditation so that they do not become “bitter” with “jealousy and hatred”.
The actor appealed to X, “Rapists, murderers and thieves all have strong emotional, physical, psychological or financial reasons for committing their crimes. No crime happens without a reason. And yet they are convicted and jailed. If you give in to the strong emotional impulses of criminals, you will end up committing crimes that violate all the laws of the country.”
“If you are comfortable with invading the intimate sphere of others, touching them without their permission and assaulting them, then remember deep down you also have no qualms with rape and murder, as those are just penetrations and stabbings. You have to look deeply at your criminal tendencies. I suggest you take up yoga and meditation, else life will become a bitter and burdensome experience. Free yourself from so much resentment, hatred and jealousy,” she added.
Music composer Vishal Dadlani, known for being a vocal anti-establishment voice, has offered his support to the CISF personnel involved in the Kangana Ranaut case. In two separate Instagram stories, Dadlani said that if Kulwinder Kaur is “removed” from her job, he would be happy to ensure that she is “gave way” to “work in pay.”
His post on X read, “I have never supported violence but I completely understand this CISF officer’s need for anger. If CISF takes any action against her, I assure you there will be a job waiting for her if she chooses to accept. Jai Hind. Jai Jawaan. Jai Kisaan.”
Following a complaint from the CISF, Mohali police filed an FIR against Kulwinder Kaur and booked her under Sections 323 (intentionally causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code.
